Theology can be presented as a shelf of correct definitions. Definitions matter, but theological understanding also requires judgment: the ability to read sources, distinguish claims, recognize consequences, and explain a conclusion with charity.
That is the purpose of Christian Theology on Feason, a twelve-seminar course in the major questions of Christian dogmatics.
A seminar, not a content funnel
The course moves through sources and method, Trinity, Christology, salvation, church, and Christian hope. Each seminar brings Scripture, historical witnesses, and living traditions into view. The aim is not to erase differences. It is to make the structure of a question clear enough that a learner can reason within it.
This is why the course uses progressive disclosure. Advanced material can be too much to absorb all at once. Core claims appear first; assumptions, disputes, references, and deeper paths become available as the learner is ready for them.
Completion should mean something
A checkbox can record that a page was visited. It cannot show that a person understood the material.
Feason asks learners to do meaningful work: explain a distinction, apply an idea, compare positions, or defend a judgment. AI-assisted assessment can respond to the substance of an answer, identify what remains unclear, and ask for another attempt. The system is not meant to manufacture grades. It is meant to make completion evidence-based.
The oral-defense pattern extends that principle. Theology is learned partly by articulating a position under questioning—seeing where an answer is precise, where it relies on an unstated assumption, and where another tradition would object.
Ecumenical does not mean vague
The course is ecumenical because it names traditions and reads them seriously. Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and other Christian witnesses are not blended into a least-common-denominator paragraph. Agreement is named where it exists. Disagreement is described with enough precision to remain recognizable.
The result should be demanding without becoming hostile, and rigorous without confusing density for depth.
