You can message members from their profile; your conversations live at Messages.
To keep messages from becoming a spam channel, there’s a daily ceiling on how many *new* conversations one account can start. Existing conversations aren’t affected.
If someone’s messages are unwelcome, you can block them and report the conversation — see report or block.
