From Feason
Listen to Scripture and Follow the Words as You Read
Explore recorded World English Bible narration across 1,189 chapters, synchronized word highlighting, and the next iPhone listening improvements.
Hearing a passage can change what a reader notices. A repeated phrase becomes easier to recognize. A long argument finds its rhythm. A familiar verse returns to the surrounding chapter instead of standing alone.
Feason now includes recorded World English Bible narration for the 1,189 chapters in its 66-book narration catalog. The recordings are shared by the web and iPhone readers, bringing a continuous listening option to both the Old and New Testaments.
The wider Scripture library also represents Christian canons beyond those 66 books. The narration catalog has its own coverage boundary: an unavailable recording or a different translation does not silently receive substitute audio.
Keep the passage in view
Open Scripture, choose a chapter, and select its listening control when narration is available. With the World English Bible selected, the audio follows the same translation identified by the recording.
Synchronized word highlighting helps connect what is heard with what is on the page. The highlight follows timing information associated with the recording, so it can rest during an introduction or a pause instead of advancing mechanically through a block of text.
The words of Scripture remain the reference point. A highlight is a reading aid; it does not add an interpretation or identify the most spiritually important phrase in a passage.
Someone can listen through a chapter, pause to inspect a verse, and return to the wider movement of the text. That gives listening a place within study rather than treating it as an unrelated audio library.
One recording, a clear translation
These are prepared recordings, played when the reader chooses to listen. Feason does not generate a fresh reading of the chapter for each request.
That choice gives the experience a stable source. It also makes the distinction between the biblical text and other uses of AI easier to understand. Synthesized narration reads the identified translation; Feasy's conversational explanations are a separate feature and can be mistaken.
World English Bible narration should not be mistaken for an audio edition of every translation selectable in the reader. Where the selected text and the recording do not match, the reader respects that limit.
The catalog and timing information have received automated integrity checks. Those checks help detect missing or mismatched files, but they are not equivalent to a human review of every spoken word.
Make room for different kinds of attention
Listening can support someone who finds a long screen session tiring. It can also help a reader hear the shape of a chapter before returning to close reading. Neither way of approaching the passage needs to be treated as the correct way for everyone.
The rest of the study tools remain nearby: notes, word study, cross-references, and reading history. A reader can move from hearing a passage to asking a more precise question about it.
For quieter listening centered on a psalm and space to rest, Take Heart offers a different experience. Chapter narration follows the biblical chapter. Take Heart organizes selected psalms around moments such as weariness, sorrow, or evening rest.
What is available, and what comes next
The shared chapter catalog and word-following work are part of the released narration feature. A newer native update adds continued playback with the phone locked, system playback controls, and a saved Follow narration setting for scrolling with the reading.
As of October 15, Apple has released Feason 1.4.40 publicly. Its source includes the newer locked-phone playback, system controls, and Follow narration setting. Update the app to use its current controls; notification, device, and audio settings can still affect an individual listening experience.
Begin with a chapter you already know. Listen once without trying to collect an insight. Then return to a sentence that held your attention and read it in context. Feason's tools can help you stay with the passage; the work of hearing and receiving it remains yours.
