Reading scripture has similarities to programming. In code you can nest logic by creating abstractions and using those abstractions at different levels of execution. For example a middleware being used in an authentication process. You can read scripture in a similar manner by understanding that verses are abstractions that are nested in a bigger principle. I was reading Matthew 7:18 talking about a bad tree creating "good" fruit because they know it is the right thing to do. The higher principle is that one's heart posture alludes to the true essence of the tree. Meaning if they did it with a misaligned heart posture it is not good fruit. Viewing scripture as nested layers of meaning allows to grasp the bigger principles God is giving us.
