Regardless of my circumstances, positive or negative, knowing that Jesus is still King brings me peace. Not because I am reducing my responsibilities of outcome but because without Him, there are no outcomes. If He is still King, then that transaction/promotion is relatively small to the gifts He has stored for us in heaven. This keeps me grounded and humbled. And if He is still King, then that death of a love one, as painful as it can feel, is minuscule to the joy we will receive in the kingdom. This keeps me hopeful in the valleys.
